"Hello and welcome to our company. My name is Pearl and I am the Transcription Manager for TP Transcriptions. I will be your first port of call when you make an enquiry. I have been working for the company since 2002, and have built a good relationship with our clients, the majority of whom supply us with repeat business over the years. I work with our selected pool of experienced transcribers and proof read every transcription before it is sent out."

TP Transcriptions have been providing transcription services and typing services since April 2000, and we have had many satisfied clients over the years, many of whom use our services again and again, as well as recommend us to colleagues and other businesses. We are not like a lot of the other transcription websites you will find on the internet - TP Transcription is not a one man/woman band operating out of a back bedroom at home. We regularly take bulk orders of over 200 hours of transcription work, and have the capacity to handle large and small assignments.

10% of the profits of our work are donated annually to charities across the UK and overseas through the Ten-Percent Foundation, a charitable trust. Full details of the Ten-Percent Foundation can be found at the ten-percent.co.uk website.

The company has been operating since April 2000, and some of our clients come back to us again and again as well as recommend us to colleagues due to the high standard of service that we provide. You can get full information on our services and advice on recordings and equipment from our e-brochure by clicking on the button above.

The transcription is undertaken by UK-based secretaries, normally working from their home offices across the UK, and most are experienced legal secretaries. All are native English speakers. At present the company can draw on the services of 20 transcribers as well as having a secondary bank of secretaries to use for particularly large or urgent orders, and we are able to take on a significant amount of work as a result.

We provide all our transcripts by email return in Microsoft Word format, although we can return transcriptions on CD. We can also convert to other formats as required, including Rich Text Format or MS Works. We undertake a range of work on various mediums on a regular basis.

Our transcribers use Express Scribe software, an NCH package (www.nch.com.au) from Australia, which is compatible with just about every digital format there is.

Each transcription is completed by an experienced operative who then checks through the transcript manually, before using Spellcheck to ensure that spelling and grammar is correct. The transcription is then emailed through to our Transcription Manager, Pearl McNamara, who proof-reads it before sending it back to you.

We receive the transcriptions, send straight through to our transcribers, who then return the completed transcriptions to us as and when they are completed. We normally assign the work as soon as we receive it, which means that you can start receiving work back within a few hours of sending them to us. If we have particular difficulties with the quality of recordings, another transcriber will immediately be put on standby to take receipt of part of the recording to ensure we have enough time to complete the assignment. Our transcribers often work through weekends to complete for deadlines.

Most work is returned within 5 days even when we have quoted a rate without a guaranteed return date. Large bulk orders can take longer.

We use an application form, a transcription test and continuous quality assessments to ensure consistency in our transcriptions. During peak periods or staff shortages (normally during the summer months and around Christmas) we use transcribers from our supplementary list to assist.

We are happy to sign undertakings confirming that the information is kept strictly confidential. Most of our transcribers are either former legal secretaries with experience in dealing with highly confidential matters (we regularly undertake work for solicitors firms dealing with criminal and child care proceedings), and we have dealt with highly confidential matters in the past including high profile criminal proceedings and investigations.

We regularly undertake one-off or sets of assignments for charitable or public sector bodies, universities, PLC’s, solicitors firms and smaller companies and these have included Aberdeen University, University of Durham, London Metropolitan University, the Home Office, the Leicester Centre for Enterprise, the Guernsey Board of Industry, Kings College London, Millercheap Peachy Solicitors, Dutton Gregory Solicitors, Lancaster University, Office of Fair Trading, Royal Holloway College, University of Dundee and St Andrews University. Some of our clients have been using us for ongoing projects for over 6 years.

The company has an equal opportunities policy and a copy is available on request.
